Description
This fungus forms thick, raised shiny black areas on the leaves of sallows. These overwinter in leaf-litter, eventually cracking open to release spores.

Leafmines caused by the weevil Isochnus cause black spots, mainly on narrow-leaved willows
Habitat
on Salix species, mainly Goat Willow, Grey Willow, Eared Willow and hybrids
