The cap is sepia to dark brown and covered in darker squamules, often in radial streaks; wrinkled and velevety in apprearance.  The gills are pinkish with a dark brown squamulous edge.  The stipe is whitish to pale brown, with dark squamules.

Widespread, rather uncommon (Kibby V2, 2020)

Occasional in Leicestershire and Rutland.
