This is a large, dark brownish aphid with a glossy shine.

Habitat

Found on types of Sow-thistle.

When to see it

Summer and early autumn.

Life History

Associated with Sow-thistle.

UK Status

Thought to be common and widespread in Britain, but little recorded.

VC55 Status

Status in Leicestershire and Rutland not known.
