A large, tall and fleshy funnel, often forming fairy rings in deciduous woodland.  The cream or pale buff caps are funnel-shaped when mature, with a small central umbo, strongly decurrent gills and smooth felt-like surface.  The stem is the same colour as the cap, tall and sturdy.   The smell is sweet/aromatic.
