Wing length 5 to 9.5 mm. A small rather greyish looking species, the wings may have a pale brown tint, but no strong stigma. The legs have yellow bases to the femora. The two wedge-shaped cells at the wing margins and the hairy eyes help to identify the Pediciidae sub-family.
