3 to 4.5mm. A rather variable wetland weevil. The elytra usually have a rather mottled appearance, but may range from greyish, to brown or greenish in colour. It is usually found on Spike-rush, Eleocharis palustris

The larvae can be found in the lower stems of Cyperaceae species.

Widespread in England and Wales.

Occasional in Leicestershire & Rutland.
