A small cranefly - length about 10 mm. The body is dull yellow-brown and both the head and thorax have a thin median dark stripe. The wing has various small dark spots and darkened veins. Vein A2 is sinuous.

A good image of the wing is needed and ideally a dorsal view of the head and thorax.

Damp and marshy areas.

Late March to September.

Widespread and fairly frequent in Britain.

Locally fairly frequent in Leicestershire and Rutland.
