Short to medium, stiffly erect, hairy plant. Leaves finger-like with 5 to 7 oblong, coarsely toothed to pinnately lobed leaflets which are grey or greyish. Flowers pale or light yellow, 15 to 25 mm, in lax, branched clusters. Petals equalling or slightly longer than the sepals.

Flowers June to September.

Perennial.

Widespread but infrequent and local in many parts of Britain.

Rare in Leicestershire and Rutland. In the 1979 Flora survey of Leicestershire it was found in 3 of the 617 tetrads.
