Sticky Scalycap

Sticky Scalycap - Pholiota gummosa

Description

A smallish fugus, with sticky pale yellowish-green caps which have fine darker scales appressed to the cap surface.   Gills yellowish to greenish-brown; stem pale yellow wth darker scales below ring zone.

Habitat

Usually in grassland, on buried wood. 

When to see it

June to October in Britain.
