Description
A reddish to chocolate brown aphid, often with transverse bars of wax dust on anterior abdominal tergites. The body length of apterae is 1.7 to 2.9 mm.

When to see it
Summer is the peak time.
Life History
The spindle aphid does not host alternate. It feeds on spindle (Euonymus europaeus).
UK Status
Probably fairly frequent in Britain, but very under recorded so true status is difficult to determine.

Status in Leicestershire and Rutland not known.
