Description
Low to tall hairless plant. The leaves are alternate, elliptical to oval, pointed and toothed and generally with glands towards the base. Upper leaves are larger than the lower ones. Flowers are small (6 to 16 mm), pale yellow in racemes of 3 to 10 held above the foliage. The spur is straight or only slightly curved.

Moist ground, woodland and other shaded habitats.

Flowers July to November.

Annual.
UK Status
Local but widespread north to Scotland.
VC55 Status
Uncommon in Leicestershire and Rutland. In the 1979 Flora survey of Leicestershire it was found in 7 of the 617 tetrads.
