Shepherd's-purse - Capsella bursa-pastoris
Low to medium plant, basal leaves in a lax rosette, lanceolate pinnately lobed. Flowers small white 2 to 3 mm in lax, often branched racemes. Fruit triangular-heart-shaped 6 to 9 mm.
Common weed of cultivated land, bare places, waysides etc.
Almost throughout the year.
Annual plant sometimes overwintering.
Very common throughout Britain.
Very common in Leicestershire and Rutland. In the 1979 Flora survey of Leicestershire it was found in 597 of the 617 tetrads.
In the current Checklist (Jeeves, 2011) it is listed as Alein (archaeophye) frequent

Albugo candida s. lat.
Albugo candida is a white fungus-like organism that attacks various crucifers often causing serious deformities and damage to the plants. The visual signs are a crusty white coating, which consists of thousands of spore capsules that burst through the plants epidermis. This may cause thickening and distortion of the stem, leaves and fruits.
