This large and distinctive moss is an upland specialist and only found in the Charnwood area in Leicestershire. It is grey-green and with a prominent hair point at the end of each leaf - giving it the 'woolly' appearance. Leaves are up to 6mm and typically curve in one direction. The hair point is toothed.
