Wingspan 7 to 10.5 mm

Occupying damp areas such as fens, alder carrs and similar habitats. Believed to be associated with mint.

The adults fly during June and July and can be attracted to light.

The early life-stages are not described, as the species is generally only seen as an adult moth.

Widely, but thinly distributed throughout the British Isles. In the Butterfly Conservation's Microlepidoptera Report 2011 this species was classified as Nationally Scarce B.

Infrequently recorded in Leicestershire and Rutland.
