Adult 4.75 to 5 mm. This species cannot always be separated from Pristiphora armata. Males are not recorded from Britain. In the females, the femora are predominantly white though marked with varying degrees of black. Determination of the females, is best done by examination of the saw.

Larva: Good photographs required, please state the host plant.

Areas where Lime trees, the larval food plants, are present.

Flight period: April to August.

Pristiphora leucopus larvae feed on Small-leaved Lime and Common Lime.

True status in Britain is difficult to determine due to lack of records, although the species does appear to be widely spread.

Rarely recorded in Leicestershire and Rutland.
