A tiny (2.2 to 2.8 mm) species with glossy cylindrical shell and an operculum. The surface is smooth, glossy, reddish to yellowish-brown, with extremely fine, widely spaced radial striae.

Lives in deep, stable leaf litter, moss or soil in wooded habitats on base-rich soils.

All year round

Widespread and fairly frequent in Britain.

Status in Leicestershire and Rutland not known.
