Description
The pair of grey spots on tergite two are found only in the female of the species. There is also usually a faint wing shade.

Habitat
Likes sunbathing and visiting flowers along hedgerows and woodland edges.
When to see it
April to September peaking late May to early June.
Life History
The larvae appear to feed on an aphid species found on Hogweeds.
UK Status
The species is widespread and fairly frequent in England and Wales.
VC55 Status
Fairly frequent in Leicestershire and Rutland
