Adults of this species have a salmon/orange thorax and a dark head. 

Periclista albida larvae feed on sessile and English oak. The larval anal abdominal segment has 2 branched bristles in the middle with 3 simple bristles on either side.

This species has a red ID rating and unless identified by a known expert you must provide a satisfactory explanation of how it was identified for the record to be accepted.

Anywhere Oak trees are present.

Associated with Oak which is grazed by the larvae.

It is thought to be fairly frequent in southern England and Wales, but there are very few records

Infrequent in Leicestershire and Rutland.
