A small bolete that is associated with the Common Earthball, Scleroderma citrinum, and is described as being parasitic on this species.The cap and stem are yellowish-brown to olive-brown and the pores are pale yellow to yellowish-brown.  It does not stain blue when bruised, or stains only very faintly.

Growing with Common Earthball (Scleroderma citrinum) in deciduous woodland, typically under Birch.

August to end of October.

Uncommon in Leicestershire and Rutland where there are only a handful of records.
