The elytra are a straw brown colour but with a darker brown triangle behind the pronotum. As with all Olibrus species, the final antennal segment is nipple-shaped. The second elytral stria meets the first before the apex.

Most frequent between March and August.

Most common in the south-east of Britain this species seems to be expanding its range northwards

Previously quite scarce in Leicestershire and Rutland, this species may become more common in the future. There were only 3 VC55 records for this species up to March 2015.
