A very small and fragile fungus, white to slightly yellowish caps, associated with conifer litter and often found in troops under conifers. Cap is pruinose, gills are adnate, and the stem is minutely hairy, with longer hairs at the base.

This can be difficult to identify from photographs.  An indication of scale is useful. Ensure you have noted the habitat and the substrate, and have photographed it from top down, in side view and from underneath to show the gills and full extent of the stipe.

Woodlands, usually on conifer needles and litter

Autumn.

Widespread in Britain.

Status in Leicestershire and Rutland not known.
