Description
As the name suggest, the markings on the abdomen are rather triangular. It is a narrow-bodied species with a yellowish scutellum.
Identification difficulty
Habitat
The species has a preference for quite well wooded areas and hedgerows, and a liking for spring flowering shrubs such as Hawthorn and Crab Apple.
When to see it
April to September peaking in May.
UK Status
The species is scarce in Britain.
VC55 Status
Rare in Leicestershire and Rutland. The Sapcote record for Meligramma trianguliferum may be the first for Leicestershire and Rutland.
