4 to 5mm, pronotum is all dark and coarsely punctured, particularly across the posterior. The front femora bear a large tooth and several smaller ones, legs which are entirely pale brown, 2nd antennal segment is also pale. This species is usually partly-winged (brachypterous).

Can be identified with care but there are similar species that it could be confused with.

A scarce and local ground bug mostly recorded from southern England, particularly the south-east.

Uncommon in Leicestershire and Rutland.
