Similar to Grey Sedge (C. divulsa ssp. divulsa) but note the yellow-green leaves and short distance between the lower two flower clusters of the inflorescence compared with C. divulsa ssp. divulsa.

Only found on limestone.

In flower during May and June.

Tufted perennial herb.

Widespread but local in Britain.

Scarce in Leicestershire and Rutland. Usually (but not exclusively) found in the east of VC55 on limestone.

It was on the 2011 VC55 Rare Plant Register (Jeeves, 2011) but improved recording since then has meant it is found in more sites than previously thought, so it doesn't meet the criteria for the current RPR (Hall and Woodward, 2022)
