Description

Flowers and leaves resemble those of our native Field Scabious but the flowers are deep pinkish red or burgundy in colour.

It is difficult to determine the status of this species as a wild plant in Britain due to lack of records.

VC55 Status

Rare as a naturalised plant in Leicestershire and Rutland. It was not included in the 1979 Flora survey of Leicestershire.
