Length 1.2 to 1.5mm. This dark brown thrips is identifiable by a toothed projection on the external margin of antennal segment 3.

Unless identified by a recognised expert, the specimen should be keyed under a microscope and the distinguishing features noted.

Little recorded due to its small size but widespread.

Status in Leicestershire and Rutland not known.
