Length 14 to 19 mm. Quite a large orangey looking caddis characterized by a pale rhomboid shaped area near the centre of the forewing, often with dark patches either side.

Limnephilus marmoratus.

Slow flowing weed rich streams, marshes, lake and pond margins.

May to June and July to September with a summer diapause.

The larvae feed on algae and weed at pond margins.

Widespread and fairly common in Britain.

Occasional but possibly or under recorded in VC55.
