Length 6 to 8 mm. A long and thin shaped caddisfly with very long antennae. It is greyish in appearance with small brown spots.

Ponds, lakes and canals.

June to August.

Larvae can sometimes be found on the fronds of pond weeds.

Most records come from the southern half of Britain where it can be quite common in suitable waters. More local north of the Midlands and to the west. It is absent from Scotland.

Status in Leicestershire and Rutland not known.
