The fruit bodies are white to creamy white shallow cups with white margins and exteriors, and whitish or yellowish stalks reaching up to 4 mm in diameter.

They grow on damp, dead stems of Bramble and stems of herbaceous plants, including Hemp Agrimony, Common Nettle, Rosebay Willowherb and Gipsywort. They grow individually, spaced along their host, or occasionally in pairs. (ref. P Thompson, Ascomycetes in Colour, 2013)

They fruit mainly in the autumn.
