Description
An all brown beetle, sometimes paler around the shoulders and pronotum. The legs are also pale brown.
Habitat
Found on or in tree fungi.
When to see it
Most likely to be encountered in summer and autumn.
Life History
The larvae are associated with fungi usually bracket fungi.
UK Status
Scattered records from most parts of Britain, but not particularly common.
VC55 Status
Occasional in Leicestershire and Rutland. There were a total of 11 VC55 records for this species up to March 2015.
