Length 3 to 3.5 mm. One of two Eupteryx with a completely (or nearly so) dark pronotum; the posterior margin is always black.  Dark forewings with pale yellowish sides and central spot. The male anal tube has one long apical spine on each side.  

Eupteryx notata is smaller and the male anal tube has 2 spines each side

Good quality photos; note plant host and habitat, and size of specimen; check for spines on male anal tube.

Low vegetation, often in damp places, with e.g. buttercup, ground ivy, mint

Adult: June-November.
