Length about 4 mm. Cacopsylla is the most complex of all UK psyllid genera, and many species require dissection to separate them. Fortunately, C. fulguralis is not one of them. The colouring is entirely distinctive, particularly the half-brown cell Cu1 at the upper edge of the forewing.

Found on cultivated Eleagnus species.

Usually April to September.

An invading species from Japan which is spreading rapidly northwards.

Status in Leicestershire and Rutland not known.
