About 7.5 mm, and lacks lines on the pronotum and also transverse wrinkles on the rostrum. It has pale yellow patches at the top of the corium.

There are three Cymatia species in the UK. The genus is characterised by the lack of lines on the pronotum and the absence of transverse ridges on the rostrum. The three have differing sized pronotum in relation to the head and each can be identified from a good image.

Unless identified by a recognised expert, a photo is required and the specimen should be examined with a microscope. In the comments box, state the key or ID method used and describe the size and identifying characters.
