A small (2 to 3 mm) shiny black leaf beetle with punctate elytra. Legs are yellowish, but with femora, tibiae and tarsi at least partly dark brown or black.

Found on a range of shrubs and trees.

May to September.

Widespread and fairly frequent in Britain.

Infrequently recorded in Leicestershire and Rutland, but this may well be due to lack of targeted recording effort and the very small size of this rather inconspicuous beetle.
