Cryptocephalus bipunctatus
Description
Size: 4 to 6 mm. Cryptocephalus bipunctatus is a black and orange red beetle, but markings can be rather variable. It may have one black longitudinal band on each elytron, or the band may be broken to form two spots, usually one on 'shoulder' and one in the centre of the elytron. The pronotum and legs are black.

UK Status
Scarce in Britain (Notable B); widespread but very local.
VC55 Status
Rare in Leicestershire and Rutland. The Ketton Quarry record of 23rd May 2015 is only the fourth record for VC55 and the first since 1987.
