Crocosmia paniculata x pottsii has erect, sword-shaped leaves and branched spikes of showy, funnel-shaped flowers.  It is very typical of many members of the Montbretia family, so great care is needed with identification.

Good photographs of the flowers and leaves are required and a specimen may be requested.

Most VC55 records are probably from discarded garden plants and subsequent vegetative spread. They may occur in various places such as waste ground, roadside verges or woodland edge, but often close to habitation.

Flowers July to September.

Cormous perennial.

Little recorded in the wild in Britain.

Rarely recorded in the wild in Leicestershire and Rutland.
