Coral Tooth - Hericium coralloides

Description

A large branched tooth fungus, with spines up to a centimetre long hanging from the branches.  It is white and soft when young but becoming brittle and yellowing with age.

Habitat

Standing and fallen hardwood trees, often beech, birch or ash. 

When to see it

Late summer and autumn.
