Usually forms a loose rosette with a pale greeny white thallus. The fruits are common and usually buff coloured, but green when wet.

On rocks, concrete and other urban substrates that are enriched with nitrogen - such as from bird droppings.

All year round.

Widespread and becoming very common in urban areas, less so in the north of Scotland and extreme south-west of England.

Common in Leicestershire and Rutland.
