This species lives on the young shoots and terminal leaf petioles of various Poplar species, especially those of Aspen and White Poplar.

The fundatrices hatch in spring and reproduce parthenogenetically through spring and summer. Oviparae and males occur in October-November.

The species overwinters in the egg stage. 

True status in Britain is difficult to determine due to lack of records.

Rarely recorded in Leicestershire and Rutland.
