Length 6 to 8 mm. A beautifully marked bug. The rosy patches on the forewings are characteristic, with the pale scutellum bisected by a dark line. The head, pronotum and legs may also be rose-tinged and the 2nd antennal segment is shorter than the 3rd and 4th combined.

Dry grasslands.

Adult: June to October (mainly June-August).

Adults and larvae feed on a range of composites such as Bird's-foot-trefoil, Restharrow, Salad Burnet and Kidney Vetch.

Found throughout Britain, but appears to be very scattered and local.

Status in Leicestershire and Rutland not known.
