Some sources suggest that the larvae mine the stems of Red Clover. However, Semelbauer & Kozánek reared the larva from egg to puparium on rotting leaves of Prunus avium. This suggests that the species is an aspecific detritus-feeder, like most of its congeners.

Widespread in England and Wales.

Status in Leicestershire and Rutland not known.
