A ground covering plant with very small, blue, five petalled star-shaped flowers.

Usually found as an escape from cultivation and close to habitation on road verges and waste ground.

Flowers in May and June but may continue later into summer.

Creeping perennial and quite invasive - plants 2 or 3 square inches can form an expanding patch 10 to15 feet wide within 2 or 3 years spreading on underground rhizomes.

Little recorded in Britain.

It was not recorded in the 1979 Flora survey of Leicestershire.
