A tiny, white or pale grey fungus found on beech litter.  The gills are also white or pale grey and are widely spaced.  The stem of mature specimens is white and translucent.

On oak, M polyadelpha is similar. The Beechleaf Parachute Rhizomarasmius setosus is another tiny fungus on beech littter; it has a hairy stipe that is reddish brown at base.
