Length 5 to 6.5 mm. It has a black head, bright orange-brown pronotum and orange-brown elytra with black markings. The scutellum is black.

Found in moss or litter in a variety of habitats including ditches, banks, woodland and gardens

Common and widespread in Britain

Common in Leicestershire and Rutland.
