Rather conical in shape with a long trunk and widely spaced ascending branches. It has tufts of 30 to 45 blue-green needles with translucent points. The most common cultivar is Cedrus atlantica 'Glauca', known as the Blue Atlantic Cedar, with whitish-blue needles.

Tip of tree erect or stiffly curved, not pendent; branches level or ascending. Leaves usually glaucous or blue/grey, but may be dark green; some cultivars have very blue leaves

Not well recorded in Leicestershire and Rutland. It was not included in the 1979 Flora survey of Leicestershire.
