Description
Thallus usually thick, warted, cracked or areolate, light grey, often with bluish tinge. Prothallus grey when present. Apothecia have black discs with persistent, thin, entire margins.
Habitat
Found on nutrient-rich siliceous rocks, often near water.
When to see it
All year round.
UK Status
Widespread and common in Britain.

Fairly frequent in Leicestershire and Rutland.
