The beetle is just under a centimetre long, metallic blue-black in colour with cream or yellow spots on its red-bordered elytra.

Widespread in England and common where the host plants are available, less well recorded from elsewhere in Britain.

VC55 Status

Local in Leicestershire and Rutland depending on the presence of the host plants. There were a total of 10 VC55 records for this species up to March 2015.
