Size 4.5 to 5 mm. A brownish-yellow beetle.

Associated with the nests of Bombus species of Bee, but has also been recorded from flowers.

Peak time is June to August.

Widespread in England and Wales, but not common.

Occasional in Leicestershire and Rutland.
