It can be recognised by its pale tan elytra divided by a darker brown mid-line.

Feeds on flowers, particularly in well wooded areas.

May to July.

The larvae live in the bark of various trees but especially Oaks.

Very common, particularly in southern Britain.

Infrequent in Leicestershire and Rutland.
