6-7mm. As with most other Agonum species, this beetle has a pronotum that narrows towards the rounded base and lives in wetland habitats. The head and pronotum are black and whilst the elytra are also generally dark they have a bronze reflection and can be paler. The legs are brown and the antennae black, except for the first segment which is dark brown. See the ID checklist below for more details on the specific characters.
